Should You Get Window Repairs?
When windows start to leak, become hard to close, or suffer other forms of damage, it's common to think that it's time to get new windows. However, this isn't always the best course of action. Instead, it may be better to just get window repairs on the problem ones.

If only one or two windows have problems, it's a clear sign that window repairs are called for. This is because it's cheaper to have a couple of windows fixed than it is to install new ones all over the house. Fixing a leaky window often involves carpentry work, and here at RCI Construction, we have the professionals needed to get the job done.

Getting a sticky window to travel smoothly is usually even easier, with the proper lubrication being all that is needed. Wooden windows, however, may need more work. With them, the problem may be related to warped wood, which can be planed or replaced in sections as needed.

On the other hand, it can sometimes be better to fully replace your windows. If all of the ones in your house look worn, the entire exterior can look better if you have this home remodeling project done. Window replacement can also be part of a larger project, such as replacing the siding, which refreshes the exterior in an even bigger way.

You may also want to do a window replacement home remodeling project even if only a couple of windows have failed. If the bad windows have to be replaced, the new ones will be obvious. When they are on the same side of the house as other windows, this is a bad thing. Then, everyone will notice that most of the windows are a bit decrepit-looking. Replacing all of the windows on one side of the house will eliminate this effect and make everything look fresher.
